Charity Cricket Match Raises £1,500 for Andy’s Man Club

At JH Grooming, we’re proud to be part of our local community, and this week was a fantastic reminder of what can be achieved when people come together for a great cause.
On Friday 18th July, Jamie Holgate and Zac Beckwith hosted the Andy’s Man Club Charity T20 Cricket Match, with the Blobbers taking on Earby Cricket Club at The Applegarth, Earby.
The evening was about much more than cricket. It was about raising awareness for men’s mental health, bringing the community together and supporting the incredible work that Andy’s Man Club does across the UK.
A Fantastic Turnout
From the first ball to the final wicket, the support from players, volunteers, sponsors and spectators was incredible.
We’re delighted to announce that, thanks to everyone’s generosity, the event raised an amazing £1,500 for Andy’s Man Club.
Every donation, raffle ticket, sponsorship and contribution helped make a real difference.
The Match
Earby Cricket Club posted an impressive 179 runs from their innings, with several batters making valuable contributions throughout.
The Blobbers responded with an entertaining chase, finishing on 168, with standout innings from:
- Nathan Taylforth – 42 (off 18 balls)
- Shane Taylforth – 41 (15)
- Macaulay Cunningham – 21 (20)
- Jamie Holgate - 16 (6)
Despite a brilliant effort, Earby Cricket Club claimed victory by 11 runs in what was a competitive and thoroughly enjoyable T20 match.

A Special Guest
We were honoured to welcome Mike Phelan, former Manchester United assistant manager under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Mike took time out of his schedule to support the event, meet everyone involved and help raise awareness for Andy’s Man Club.
